Alberta Institute for Wildlife Conservation

In the summer of 2019, my partner and I discovered 2 orphaned ducklings in our back yard. Unfortunately, Duke had found 2 other ducklings the were no longer alive - very sad but also the circle of life.

My partner went out and purchased food and shavings for our 2 new house guests while we tried to figure out what to do with them. After some calling around and googling, we came across the Alberta Institute for Wildlife Conservation (AIWC). They were happy to accept our little ducklings, so we drove them out to Madden, Alberta that same day. The staff at the AIWC cared for our ducks until they were old enough to be returned to the wild.

AIWC is an accredited vet clinic specifically dedicated to admitting injured and orphaned wildlife. Their vision is to preserve the legacy of wildlife through education and care.

My partner and I got to see first hand all the good work that they do with injured and orphaned wildlife. Their facility is really quite amazing!

Thank you for caring for our wildlife and I hope to contribute to your cause again soon!

We fundraised for AIWC from July - September 2019.
