1. What areas do you service?

Check out our Interactive Map!

2. What is your training/handling style?

We believe that a good dog handler has a vast toolbox of training techniques and tools to choose from in order to work with each dog at their level. Our Pack Leaders are trained on how to properly use positive reinforcement, interruptions and corrections with our pack members.

We believe that a balanced approach is the key to developing a calm and well behaved pack. This includes calm consistent leadership and attention directed to building mutual trust and respect.

3. What will my dog's day look like?

Please check out our short video of a typical Pack Class!

A typical day with the pack looks like this:

8:30-12 AM Pick-ups, walk, AM Drop-Offs

12-1 Midday Groups if applicable (Little Jetters or Silvers Club)

1-4:30 PM Pick-ups, walk, PM Drop-offs.

A note for Pack Class participants: Your dog may take part in a mid-day group depending on our schedule and your dog's personality.

For Flight School, Your dog will be picked up with the AM Pick-ups and dropped off with the PM Drop-offs

4. Can I request a morning or afternoon walk?

We will always take your specific scheduling needs into account when scheduling our walks but sometimes we aren't able to accommodate specific scheduling requests. We value our clients' flexibility.

5. Will my dog get time off-leash?

Please read our Off-leash Activities Blog!

The short answer is that we work with each dog at their level. If we believe your dog is ready for off-leash and has reliable recall, then probably! If we are still working on these skills with your dog then we might work more on Long Leash Activities.

Depending on the pack energy, our walk location or specific goals in the pack, we may choose to focus on On-Leash and Pack Training Exercises instead of working on Off-Leash/Long Leash during your dog's Pack Class.

We strongly believe that a good On-Leash and Off-leash balance is required to develop a calm mind in your dog and we work hard to develop that.

Under no circumstances will your dog be let Off-Leash if we believe that they are not ready or we believe that their energy level is such that we won't be able to work with them.

6. Do you offer Private Walks?

At this time we do not offer Private services. We recommend contacting Tinkle Time for your private walk needs.

7. What if my dog has a history of aggression?

We do not accept dogs with a strong history of Human or Dog Aggression. Rule of thumb is: if you don't trust your dog in social settings (humans and dogs), then our services may not be a good option for them.

However, sometimes aggression or reactivity can be easily managed through good leadership. If you believe that your dog can succeed in social settings with the right leadership, then we can book an assessment and trial period!

8. What is your policy on intact dogs?

We assess intact dogs on a case by case basis. However, we want to start working with your intact dog before they reach 6 months of age. This allows us to get them integrated into the pack before their hormones start kicking into gear (commonly happens around the 6 month mark). If we are able to start working with them on a regular basis before that happens, then they can commonly remain intact in the pack until 1-2 years of age.

9. What Vaccinations does my dog need?

We require all puppies to have received their third round of shots and/or be cleared by your veterinarian for pack activities.

(Please note that while we won't work with your dog until the third round of shots, we highly recommend that you start to socialize your dog with humans and other dogs in a controlled environment!)

For adult dogs, we require proof of:

- Rabies

- Core vaccines (includes Parvo, Distemper and Hepatitis).

We Highly recommended:

- Bordetella/Kennel Cough

- Regular De-worming

- Flea/Tick/Lice treatment between Spring and Fall if not all year round.

We accept Titre tests as long as they are done as often as your vet recommends (Every 1-3 years).

We encourage all of our clients to have a good relationship and communication with their veterinarian to discuss the best way to protect your dog's health in our pack.

10. What kind of tools do you use?

We primarily use martingale collars and a hands-free leash. We will also use harnesses, slip leads, gentle leaders, muzzles, e-collars, bitter apple spray and much more depending on what the dog needs at that time.

11. Having my dog in Pack Class means that I don't need to do any training myself, right?

ABSOLUTELY NOT! In fact, if this is what you are thinking right now, then Silver Jet Dog is not for you!

We work hard with your dog, and we expect you to do the same. Full stop.

12. How old should my dog be for your Little Jetters program?

Your puppy must have received their 3rd round of shots before entering our Little Jetters program, this usually occurs around 3 months of age. Your puppy will stay in our Little Jetters program until 4.5-6 months of age. We aim to have your puppy in Pack Class by 6 months.

PLEASE NOTE that socializing your puppy with humans and dogs BEFORE they reach 3 months of age is EXTREMELY IMPORTANT. If you need ideas on how to socialize your dog before they've had all their shots, please reach out!
